Dr Karen Gordon-BoylePresident GRPA Board
Dr. Boyle currently the President of GRPA board of Directors and the Country Director for Cicatelli Associates Inc in Guyana implementing a two year Global Fund Project. Dr. Boyle attended the Bishops High School where she was awarded the Guyana Scholar Award for her performance at GCE A Levels, Studied medicine in Moscow, graduated from medical school in 1990, upon return worked at the Georgetown Public Hospital until 2001.she also served as the Director of the GUM clinic from 1998-2001. She started the Eureka Medical Laboratory and Family Clinic in 1995 with her husband and completed her master’s in Public Health at Columbia University in New York in 2005 and a doctorate at the University of the West Indies, Mona Campus. She is also President of the Women's Ministry of my church and a Sunday school teacher.
Mr. Jason ShepherdVice President to the GRPA Board
Mr. Jason Shepherd is an ambitious and enterprising young man. He is passionate about working and helping others, especially in areas that address social issues. Jason is a team player and also enjoys travelling, surfing internet and always looking for new business opportunities.
Ms. Mena CartoSecretary GRPA Board
Mena is a Public Health specialist (MSc. Public Health) with more than 30 years experience working in health care programmes. She has a strong background in the delivery of HIV/AIDS care and treatment services and is a senior management professional with experience in overseeing health programs for international agencies. Mena’s consulting experience includes capacity building and report writing to support national health and development programmes. Amidst her busy work schedule, she apportions some of her time to doing voluntary work which includes serving as Secretary to the Board of GRPA.
Patricia Sheerattan-BisnauthGRPA Executive Director
Patricia Sheerattan-Bisnauth is a gender and development specialist with extensive experience in addressing gender justice and promoting partnership of women and men in Guyana, the Caribbean and also internationally. Patricia has expertise in analytical and transformative approaches to global justice issues, including Sexual and Reproductive Health & Rights and brings a critical understanding of the influence of beliefs, values, cultural norms and socio-economic conditions to the understanding of SRHR. Patricia has developed two gender manuals and edited nine books and written several articles for academic journals, books and magazines.
Ms. J. Ayana McCalmanAssistant Secretary GRPA Board
Ayana McCalman is an Attorney-at-Law & Legal Consultant who has been of service to individuals, NGO’s and corporate clients for the past 10 years. Ayana was admitted to practice law at the Guyana Bar in 2005 and has worked in private and government agencies in Guyana and the Caribbean. In 2014 launched her own business and firm McCalman & Co. Legal Services. Ayana currently serves as Director and Assistant Secretary on the Board of Directors of GRPA.
Ms. Glenis ArcherTrustee GRPA Board
Glenis Archer, is currently employed as the HR Manager at Roraima Airways and a second term GRPA Board member since 2013. She is very much concerned about increased in teenage pregnancy among our population, and is eager to have SRH be implemented in the high school curriculum. Ms Archer currently functions in as a financial trustee, as well as provides policy and HR procedural recommendations to the Board and the GRPA Director.
Mr. Ramsay AliTrustee GRPA Board
CEO of Sterling Products Ltd and Vice President of the GMSA which also allows him the leverage some amount of private sector support and collaboration to an agency like the GRPA. During the last 15 years or so he has developed a penchant for helping the younger generation to develop, hence the role as President of the Scout Association of Guyana and some association with sports organizations.

Ms Gaitrie Shivsankar is very Personable individual who is self-motivated, open minded, mature and professional. She is able to work confidently with diverse cultures and situations in which cultural awareness and appreciation are integral
Ms. Dela BrittonTrustee GRPA Board
Dela Britton is an Attorney-at-Law with Britton, Hamilton & Adams and a second term GRPA board member and Secretary of the Commonwealth Caribbean Bar Associations (OCCBA). She is currently the managing Director of Britton, Hamilton & Adams a General Practice Legal Firm. Ms. Britton holds a Bachelor of Laws Degree from the University of the West Indies and a Legal Education Certificate (LEC) from Hugh Wooding Law School (1994) which grants permission to the holder to practice in Thirteen countries of the Caribbean Community (CARICOM). Ms. Britton is a USAID trained Court Mediator and she holds a Certificate in Grant Writing from New York University Ms. Britton is also the holder of a Masters of Laws from the Fordham School of Law, in International Business and Trade with emphasis on Corporate Management and Intellectual Property.
Ms. Sharon RoopchandGRPA Board Member
Ms. Sharon Roopchand-Edwards is a trained Economist and Educator who lectures out of the Department of Economics at the University of Guyana. Her passion for issues addressing youth, gender and development has led her, over the years, to volunteer in an advisory capacity at various forum and discussants addressing such areas, both locally and internationally. Her commitment to this cause is reflected in her position as a Board member on the GRPA's Board. Additionally, Ms. Roopchand-Edwards serves on a number of boards and committees, both internal and external to the University of Guyana, involved in areas of economic and social development, trade in services, finance and strategic planning.
Mr. Allan RamsarranGRPA Board Member
Mr Allan Ramsarran has been involved in the Aviation industry for over 15 years as an international Flight Attendant various airlines. He is actively involved in the entertainment industry as a Yoga and Dance instructor and also has started his own television show.
Mr. Joel SimpsonGRPA Board Member
Mr. Joel Simpson is an Activist, Human Rights Lawyer and Scholar. He believes in equal opportunity for all. He is currently the Managing Director of Society Against Sexual Orientation Discrimination (SASOD)
Mr. Travis BruceYouth Representative GRPA Board
Travis Anthony Bruce, 18 years old, Vice President of the Youth Advocacy Movement and also a Youth Representative on the Board of Directors. Mr. Bruce is very energetic, ambitious person who has developed a mature and responsible approach to any task that he may undertake. He is also an advocate for Sexual Rights since it has been his passion for more than three years.
